Thank you for your interest in the CCYS basketball program. CCYS offers a basketball program for both boys and girls that competes against other youth clubs in the AYL (www.aylsports.org). Participation is available to youth grades 2nd through 8th. We hope that you will join us for another great basketball season!
Games and Practices:
Practices begin in early November and will be held at Cherry Creek Schools in the Denver Tech Center area on weeknights (usually 2 practices a week). Coaches decide their practice schedules (based on availability) and are subject to change. Games begin in early December with a 2 week break over the holidays. The season runs through the middle of February. Games are held on Friday evenings (younger grades 2-3) and Saturdays (older grades 4-8). Weather closures and school schedule changes can alter practice and game schedules.

If you are requesting to be on a particular team with an assigned coach, please note that information in the special requests area online. If you do not have an existing team to request, we will assign you to a team and you will be contacted by the coach or a representative of CCYS prior to the start of practices. We work to find the best fit for every player and try to group players based on neighborhood, school attended, and requests of friends who would like to play together. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee team placement.
Head coaches are required to submit a Coaches Application by October 1st, 2018 by email to firstname.lastname@example.org If you have already coached another sport with CCYS in 2018 and have submitted your application, you are not required to submit another one. Please email any interest in coaching to email@example.com. We are always looking for great coaches!

·Division 2: This level of competition is intended for kids who desire a competitive basketball experience but may not have been playing on a consistent team in previous years or are just moving up from a recreational league.

·T-shirt or Shooting Shirt
The Creek Sports basketball program grants our volunteer coaches the option of forming their own teams without players evaluations or tryouts. Through this process we can end up with several players not aligned to a team. We call those players free agents. We will typically find a team for free agent players however occasionally free agents go unassigned and do not end up on a team. There are a few reasons why this can happen. Typically, it’s due to roster sizes, player skill level, and late registrations. We will do our best to provide your child an opportunity to play however please understand there is a possibility we will not be able to assign each free agent to a team.
We are looking forward to a great season and we hope that you will join us!
